The conference, which was organised on 10th-11th of Sep 2013 in Kotka Finland provided latest information and practical experiences on community based tourism, it's challenges and successes.
Communities take a central role of the development of sustainable tourism especially in rural areas. Their support is also needed for the entrepreneurs in order to keep the tourism activities socially sustainable in local level.
In the conference programme there were expert presentations from over 12 different countries highlighting how communities can be successfully included in rural tourism development, what the benefits are to them and practical level challenges.
The presentations (ppt) are now available to all on the conference webpages: http://www.seprat.net/seminar2013
By the end of October also videos of the plenary session presentations as well as the conference proceedings will be available on the same page.
